Madison County, AL
Home MenuLarge Debris Collection
The District 3 office is responsible for the removal of your large trash debris once a month. All residents are charged $3.00 a month on their utility bill for this service.
Please place large debris in front of your home at curbside or the edge of the roadway. All debris must be placed out for collection in such a manner not to obstruct the flow of surface water or be an obstruction to traffic or pedestrians.
The amount of debris we will pick up at each house per month should fit into a standard pickup truck bed. If your debris exceeds this, please call our office at 256-776-2475 (Brownsboro) or 256-723-4247 (New Hope) for SPECIAL SERVICE. The minimum charge is $50.00. The fee depends on manpower, equipment, and disposal fees.
Trash items that are picked up include:
• Tree limbs (must be cut in 8 ft. lengths or less), brush, bagged leaves & bagged grass clippings, etc.
• Appliances – washers, refrigerators, etc.
• Furniture
Items NOT picked up include, but are not limited to:
• Automotive products, car batteries, pesticides, household batteries, paint and related products, TVs, computers, treated wood, glass, shingles, insulation, concrete, bricks, and rock. These items can be taken to the Huntsville Landfill or the Handle with Care Collection Center
• Household garbage/waste or refuse that would normally be placed in the green garbage cans WILL NOT be picked up.
• NOTE: If you hire Professional services, such as home reconstruction or tree disposal, the workers should dispose of the waste they generated and CANNOT put this out for county collection.
** TIRES must be placed in a pile behind our gate during working hours, you must sign in at the office before dropping them off. They must be removed from rims and must be free of dirt, mud, gravel and debris. We DO NOT accept tires from commercial vendors. Our landfill does not accept tires, but we have a tire recycling grant that uses a third party to dispose of old tires. The grant will be discontinued if we do not abide by these rules.
Schedule:
New Hope Office – District 3
District 3 runs on a continuous route. It takes approximately 2 ½ - 3 weeks to complete the route depending on how much debris is out and how often trucks need to unload at the landfill.
Please call the District New Hope office at 256-723-4247 to determine an estimated pick-up time.
Brownsboro Office – District 3 East
District 3 East is divided into different bulk trash pick-up sections. Please click on the link below or call our District 3 East office at 256-776-2475 to determine your pick-up week.
The number on the map represents the week of the month for large item trash collection. We cannot provide a specific day your trash will be picked up with in your week. Due to the increase in the amount of trash being placed out for collection during peak times, collections may be delayed.
