Location: The project begins at the intersection of Grimwood Rd and Cherry Drive and runs west to the intersection of Grimwood Rd and Pulaski Pike. The total project length is about 5 miles.
Project Description: The project includes the installation of 26,000ft of ductile-iron pipe to replace existing distribution mains. Customer water services will be transferred to the new main, once installed. Repairs to roadway surfaces, driveways, and landscaping will be completed as the project progresses and after the bulk of the water main installation is complete. There may be temporary impacts to traffic routing due to lane closures as the work progresses.
Project Timeline: The project is expected to begin in January 2025 and be completed by May 2025.
Need for Project: This project replaces aging water main along Grimwood Rd that has seen numerous main breaks in recent years. The new water main has a larger diameter and will better support growth in the Hazel Green and Toney areas.
