Festival Overview

The Madison County Drinking Water Festival educates children about surface and groundwater through fun, enlightening activities. All students in 4th grade throughout Madison County are invited. We want students to know where their drinking water comes from, how they can protect it and keep it clean, and how it's linked to other natural resources like forests, wetlands, and wildlife. Children will leave the Festival environmentally aware and equipped with a sense of stewardship for our greatest natural resource — water!

The two-day event is held on the UAHuntsville campus each May. Students participate in hands-on activities which are designed to help them relate everyday events to the water cycle. A magic show by world-renowned environmental magician Steve Trash completes the experience.

Each year, sponsorships are available at six levels. All students and teachers registered for the Festival will receive a free t-shirt highlighting the sponsors who make this event possible.
