Home MenuAnnual Drinking Water Report
The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), a federal law that sets health and safety standards for public drinking water in the United States, requires community water systems to prepare and provide to their customers annual drinking water reports on the quality of the water delivered by the systems . These reports can be used by consumers, especially those with special health needs, to make informed decisions regarding their local drinking water.
The annual reports, delivered no later than July each year, contain data collected during the previous calendar year. In general, annual drinking water reports provide consumers information about:
- where their water comes from;
- the types of sources used;
- a summary of treatment used;
- potential health effects from consuming contaminated water and additional safeguards against water-related illnesses;
- a list of regulated contaminants tested and the results;
- contaminant levels in the report compared to national standards;, and
- any violations of health-based standards.
The Madison County Commission is pleased to present to you the 2023 Annual Drinking Water Report. The report is a summary of the quality of water provided to you last year. All information has been collected and reported in accordance with the water quality standards established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM).
