Welcome to Madison County, Alabama!
To help us serve you in the most efficient way please follow these guidelines.
• Residents are required to use the Madison County issued Carts. No other containers will be serviced.
• Carts must be at the curb by 6:00 am on your service day.
• Carts should be on flat level surface within 2 feet of the roadside and a minimum of 3 feet from any object (mailbox, vehicles, recycling bins, telephone poles, other carts etc.) with the arrows pointing toward the road. If a cart is too close to an object it will not be serviced, and trucks will not return to collect this cart.
• All household garbage should be bagged to prevent spillage and wind scattering it.
• All household garbage must be placed in the container. Do Not Overfill, this will result in spillage and will be the resident’s responsibility to clean it up. The monthly fee for weekly service is $13.50 per household. An extra cart is available for an additional charge of $5.00 per month. Please request additional garbage cart here.
• Due to health-related issues please do not place garbage in any cart that is not assigned to you.
• No Ashes are allowed in the cart, it will burn/melt.
• No garbage should be placed on top of the cart this will result in spillage. The cart will not be serviced.
• We do not service items such as grass, leaves, building material, metal scrap, paint, hazardous chemical, such as acids or pool chemicals, oil, dirt, rocks, wood, furniture, ashes, sawdust, carpet and pad, dead animals, human or animal waste, tires, and etc.
• To control odor, rinse out your cart with water and cleaners such as ammonia or Lysol when needed.
• Residents should remove cart from the roadside in a timely manner.
• New customers in Madison City/Limestone County please call 256-772-8490 to schedule collection of cardboard moving boxes. Madison County customers call 256-532-3718.
• If you move leave the cart at the present location.
• In the event of a Holiday, collection schedules will be on the County’s website and sent out through our automated email, if you’d like to be added to this list please call the office.
