Sharon Johnston Park is an outdoor, recreational park under the auspices of the Madison County Commission.  The park is open daily from sunrise until dark. 

Located just 20 minutes from downtown Huntsville, the 250 acre park lies nestled in the rolling hills of northeast Madison County. The forested park with its stone and cedar fencing reflects the early settlement look of New Market, the pioneering community of Alabama.

The park includes:

• Twelve acre fishing lake stocked annually with catfish, brim, crappie, and bass
• Olympic size swimming pool where children can take swimming lessons and participate on Sharon Johnston Swim Team
• Campground facilities
• Small picnic shelters and large pavilions with open air barbecue grills
• Playground with pavilion
• Shooting range
• Soccer fields
• Wedding Pavilion
• Marked 5k walking/running course
• 18-Hole Disc Golf Course
