Location: Blake Bottom Road from Jeff Road NW to SR-255 (Research Park Boulevard NW)

Project Description: Widen to a 5-lane roadway to include two westbound lanes, two eastbound lanes and a center turn lane.  The project will extend from just west of Jeff Road to the SR-255 overpass, and will require Right of Way Acquisition, Utility Relocation, Bridge and Culvert Widening along with the roadway construction.  The typical section will include curb & gutter roadways with underground stormwater pipe.

Need for Project: The project is needed because the existing two-lane Blake Bottom Road has insufficient capacity to carry existing traffic volumes, and traffic volumes are projected to grow, resulting in increased congestion and reduced safety. Current daily traffic volumes on this section of Blake Bottom Road more than triple the ideal volumes for a two-lane facility.  In the last five years, more than 100 crashes have occurred along this section of roadway.
