Madison County Public Works regulates commercial site developments within unincorporated Madison County. An approved Commercial Site Plan is required in order to obtain a building permit for most commercial site developments.

Submittal Process

Commercial site applications, plans, and checks can be dropped off at the Engineering Department at the front office located at 266-C Shields Road, Huntsville, AL 35811. Access to the Subdivisions Department (west building entrance) has been suspended. Please use the Subdivision and Commercial Site Documents Routing Form (PDF) when dropping off documents. Paper copies will be made available if one is not provided at the time of drop off. For assistance with document drop-offs, please call the Engineering Department at 256-746-2900.
