Due to the hazardous road conditions and extreme cold temperatures expected overnight, the Madison County Courthouse and all County offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Most roads and all bridges are impassible currently across the county.  County Commissioners and their crews have been working diligently over the past two days to prepare for this winter weather.  But due to the sleet and ice that has accumulated over the earlier snow, it has made the roads slick and dangerous for travel.  Please do not get out unless it is an extreme emergency.

We appreciate the County employees who have been out in this weather most of the day trying to get the roads clear. 

Madison County Sanitation routes, green trash cans, will not run on Tuesday, January 16, so all routes will be delayed another day.  We will examine the roads tomorrow afternoon and update if we need to delay further.
