Recreation Department, Madison County
256-929-1006
Shields Road (Mt. Carmel Gym)

The Madison County Rural Recreation Department coordinates a variety of sports for both boys and girls ages 5 to 14: baseball/softball, soccer, basketball, swimming, and football and cheerleading. Gyms are located throughout Madison County. All services depend heavily on volunteer coordinators and parents/staff. More than 25,000 youngsters participate in the different sports every year plus tremendous family support. When first registering your child in sports, you must bring a copy of their birth certificate. Program fees for each sport cost approximately $75 (that fee includes supplemental sports activity insurance). Uniforms may involve additional cost depending on whether the team has sponsors. Registration begins in February for Baseball and Softball; in May for Swimming Lessons; in July for Football and Cheerleading; in August for Soccer; and in September for basketball.
