It is an honor to represent the people of
District Three. I will continue my open door policy, working with all the citizens to insure the
Commission takes the proper steps to meet the needs of Madison County. This is a wonderful county
which has seen tremendous growth. I am committed to listening and carefully weighing new policy that

seventh term as District Three Madison County Commissioner, has served since 1984. During his tenure
he has consistently worked to improve education, senior services, athletic programs, and roads in
his district. In 1994, he received an award from the International Reading Association for his work
in distributing over one million books to schools, libraries, clubs and organizations. He has
participated in many school projects in and out of his district with concerned parents, PTA's,
principals and the Madison County Board of Education. Craig is a graduate of New
Hope High School and attended Snead State Junior College. He holds a Bachelor of Science in
Education from the University of Alabama where he also lettered in varsity basketball. He holds a
Masters Degree from the University of Montevallo. In 1990, he received the Alumni Achievement Award
from Montevallo. Prior to being elected commissioner, he worked in the Madison County School System
for 19 years as an educator and coach, receiving "Coach of the Year" five times and coaching seven
teams to the state play-offs. Craig has been married to Marion "LittleBit" Jones
for 41 years. His daughter Lynn is a graduate of Athens State College,an elementary teacher with the
Madison County School system. Son Mark is a graduate at the University of Alabama with a commerce
and business degree. He serves as Director of the Madison County License Department. Commissioner
Craig has two grandsons, Brady Lynn Parker and Bridges Malone Craig and one granddaughter, Benton

Please call 256-723-4247 in New Hope or 256-776-2475 in Brownsboro to find the time of trash pick-up in your
neighborhood.
Items that can be placed at the side of the road:
- Limbs and Brush -
Place all brush in a separate pile. All brush must be cut
in 8 foot lengths or less.
- Grass Clippings and Leaves -
All grass clippings and pine straw must be contained.
Do not place in trash cans, they will not be emptied.
- Metal Items -
Separate into one pile. This includes: appliances, hot
water heaters, chairs, iron post, all fencing and aluminum
goods.
- Bulk Household Items -
Large items (mattresses, sofas, etc.)
Items you CAN NOT place at the side of the road:
- Automotive Products, Car Batteries, Pesticides,
Household Batteries, Paint and related products. Please call 882-0155, the Handle With Care Collection
Center, to dispose of these items.
- Tires must be taken to the City of Huntsville Landfill.
- Contractors must remove construction debris.
- Construction materials such as: Shingles, Insulation,
Concrete Blocks, Rocks, Cement and like materials.
Individuals may take these items to the City of
Huntsville Landfill.
- Commercial tree trimmers must dispose of their own
debris.
Pick-up is free if no more than 1 pick-up truck load
per month. If the trash is over the limit, call District 3
at 723-4247 or District 3 E at 776-2475 for SPECIAL
SERVICE. The minimum charge is $50.00 and the fee
depends on the amount of trash you have out.
